Update - letter to the children 16th April

Dear Children

Good Morning – I hope you had a lovely week and are still being good for your grown ups!  I have heard from lots of you which is soooooooo lovely!

Our new Value is TRUST – Can you talk at home about what that word means to you and why it is so important?

Trust means being able to feel that a person will always be there for us – to take care of us – listen to us – help us – parents, grandparents, family, friends we can trust, policemen, nurses and doctors, teachers etc.

Here’s a story about Trust ‘My naughty little sister at the fair’ by Dorothy Edwards – you can hear it read on YouTube (get a grown up to help you):

If you like this story and want to find out more about ‘My naughty little sister’ stories then you can go to the BBC website: https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/english-ks1--ks2-my-naughty-little-sister-by-dorothy-edwards/zb2rwty

Have you watched the old film of ‘Jungle Book’?  Do you remember what Kaa the Python sang? Would you trust in him?

If you are in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 can you make a picture of people you trust? Send me a photo if you like.

If you are in Year 3 Can you finish these sentences? Send me a photo if you like.

Someone I know I can trust is . . .

People trust me to be . . .

If you are in Years 4 and 5 can you draw around both your hands on a piece of paper and label one hand “Who can you trust and help at home?” and the other hand “Who can you trust and help at school?”  Write a sentence about who you can trust or help in each finger and thumb.  Send me a photo if you like.

If you are in Year 6 – do you know what an Acrostic poem is? Can you write one about TRUST? Send me a photo if you like.

Some happy news and a great big congratulations to one of our family's who have a brand new baby in the house.
