AMAZING AFRICA!

In year one this term, we have been doing some fantastic African inspired Artwork!

We have explored mark making with a variety of tools such as crayons, felt tips, colouring pencils and paint! We then applied these skills in our lessons and created African sunset silhouette paintings. We have been learning all about Africa and the African culture and we especially enjoyed learning about the Maasai tribe and their jumping competitions!

We then had a go at creating our own Maasai necklaces using repeating patterns. We also had a go at creating our own Maasai tribe shields, which was brilliant! We enjoyed our topic and artwork so much that some of us have gone home and carried on making! Tilly from 1H has made some fantastic African instruments and decorated them beautifully – well done! Have a look in our GALLERY to see some of our amazing African artwork!
