Dr Palmer's Science morning
We were very lucky this term to have a visit from Dr Palmer who used to work for NASA and is very knowledgable about space.
We did lots of practical activities including making the solar system our of seeds and fruit to represent a scaled down size of each planet. We learnt lots of interesting facts such as if you shrunk Jupiter to scale it would be the size of a banana chip if the sun was the size of a small watermelon.
Ahmed was interested to learn that the distance between Mercury and Mars is the same as the distance between Jupiter and Saturn.
We learnt so much on her visit... Thank you Dr Palmer for coming to share your knowledge with us :)
