THRILLING 3D SHAPES

Today in maths, we learnt about 3D shapes so today we made our own 3D shapes using nets.

Nets are like the 3D shapes if it has been flattened. Most 3D shapes have faces such as a cube which has 6 faces. Some 3D shapes also have vertices which are like corners. We used nets to make cuboids, cubes, triangular based pyramids and square based pyramids. There were also some really challenging shapes to make like dodecahedrons! The trickiest part was gluing together the fiddly flaps to make our nets.

Have a look HERE at some photos from our lesson :)
