In Design Technology this term we will be making our own bread rolls. We have been learning about the history of the Warburton bakery, understanding the products that they make and thinking about what we could make.
We have been super busy learning about the artist William Morris. Did you know William Morris founded his own fabric company and it is still manufacturing goods. We had someone share with us his or her baby sister’s bib, which is from Morris and Co at Next... How cool is that!
It has been lots of fun settling in to Year 3.
We spent the first week getting to know our teachers and each other by doing some fun, ready to learn activities.
This term in history we have been studying Ancient Egypt. We began by looking at a timeline of the Ancient Egyptian civilisation and we have since spent lessons looking at mummification, Tutankhamun and we even got to look at some artefacts.
In Year 3 we have been learning about the Ancient Egyptians and how they mummified the dead. We really enjoyed exploring artefacts from Ancient Egypt.
In English we are learning about the incredible Titanic that sunk on its’ maiden voyage through or novel – Kaspar Prince of Cats...
At the end of last term, year 3 had a brilliant morning making bread. To make the bread, we had to combine flour, yeast and water. When we had combined these, we had to knead the dough to give the bread more structure. It was very messy!

We have spent the first two weeks back at school looking at what makes a good learner and what makes a good teacher. It has been wonderful being back to working in tables and this has had a hugely positive impact in the first two weeks.
