EYFS OUTDOOR LEARNING

We started our first week back after the Easter break with outdoor learning in school in preparation for going to Bromham woods later on in the term. We took part in lots of fun activities and we really enjoyed our first experience in the Robin’s garden.

On Tuesday, we planted cress seeds in soil and we learned about the three important things that plants need to grow. We played some team games. We especially loved playing ‘horses and jockeys.’ Our last activity was a scavenger hunt. We found almost all the items that we were looking for however most of us struggled to find a clover and a ladybird.

On Wednesday, we had fun in the Robin’s garden playing in the mud kitchen, digging in the mud, making dens, swinging on the tyre and making music on the music wall. We also did some Gruffalo themed orienteering. The children worked well in their pairs to find the clues and solve the sentence. We finished off by making bird feeders using apples and sunflower seeds. We used our fine motor skills to push the seeds into the apples.

On our final outdoor learning morning, we went on a shape hunt around the school. We then collected sticks in the garden and made some 2D shapes with them. We also enjoyed playing on the trim trail and obstacle course. To see some photos, please click HERE!
