INVESTIGATING SOUND!

This term in science we have been learning about sound. Our science enquiry was to investigate how sound is produced and to see the vibrations within objects.

In one of our science lessons, we were able to play some musical instruments to see the vibrations from the sound produced. Did you know if you put your fingers against your throat, and say, “aah” you can feel the vibrations on your vocal cords!

In one of our previous science lessons, we made string telephones to investigate how sound is produced and were able to record findings using scientific language.

Last science lesson, we learnt about high and low pitch. A high pitch sound has faster vibrations whereas a low pitch sound has slower vibrations. To investigate pitch we created duck straws.
