ICT in Nursery

The children in the nursery class have enjoyed exploring ICT in recent weeks.

Typical educational uses of ICT in early years might be something as simple as the introduction of a pretend mobile telephone to encourage imaginative role play; and the educational benefits of imaginative role play are well documented.  In doing so, the children have also been learning to play collaboratively.  Collaboration is important in providing opportunities for cognitive conflict as children make efforts to compromise and find solutions together in the creative course of problem solving.  Whilst exploring the range of ICT materials in the nursery class children have had to collaborate by taking turns whilst investigating and exploring in their world of play.  Please see more pictures of our learning here.
