Prime Time - Before & After School Club

The Hills Academy Prime Time Care Scheme

Our Prime Time before & after school club is held at the school daily in Term Time 7.45 - 8.45am and 3.30 - 6pm. It is open to all children attending The Hills Academy.

Registration:
To register for the club please select the link at the top of the website Home page Magic Booking.  There is an annual registration fee of £ 10 per child.  This involves acceptance of the Club rules and is an annual requirement for each child in September (or when a place becomes available).

Fees:
The current fees in September 2022 are £3.50 for each morning session and £1 for breakfast as an extra option.  It is £5.00 for evening prime time for the first hour and £4.50 from 5-6pm.  This is payable on Magic Booking and is paid by cared/debit card or childcare vouchers/tax free childcare.   

Sessions can currently be cancelled up to 2 hours before it starts and you will receive a credit.   If a session is not cancelled you will still be charged unless your child is unwell.

Sickness & Accidents:
If a child becomes ill during a Club session, every attempt will be made to contact a parent or carer (listed on the child's account) to arrange collection of the sick child. The child will be cared for until collected. In case of a minor accident, basic First Aid will be administered.  In the case of an accident requiring more than basic First Aid, every attempt will be made to contact the parent/carer to advise or discuss the action to be taken.  An accident book will be maintained.

Morning Routine & Activities:
All Prime Time is currently held in a classroom, please bring your child to the outside back door to be signed in by the staff.

Morning Prime Time focuses on quiet play preparing the children for their day in school. It is organised so that the children can choose from a range of activities.

Evening Routine & Activities:
Upon arrival the children will be given a drink and light snack.  Following this, a range of activities are available and the children can choose what they wish to do.  Examples of the sorts of activities are:

  • Craft e.g. mask making, papier-mache, painting
  • Board Games & Puzzles
  • Snooker/Football Table
  • Dressing Up and other role play activities
  • Construction e.g. Lego, K’nex
  • Games and Sports, Outdoor activities in appropriate weather.
  • Homework club (Years 3-6)

Children may be collected by the parent/carer or a designated person 16 years and over with the designated password and must be signed out of the club.  Please collect from the back door of the hall.

Homework Club - Prime Time
Children in year 3 - 6 are able to attend Homework Club for the first hour.  This will take place in the Computer suite to work with a member of staff, Mrs Pettitt .  If they are going to stay longer they will be transferred into the main hall after 5pm

Further Details:

The Prime Time Care Scheme provides good quality childcare in a relaxed friendly environment, in a classroom at The Hills Academy.  It is managed by the School Business Manager and regulated by Ofsted Early Years Directorate, operating under the Children Act.

The Prime Time Care Scheme is committed to offering an equally accessible service to all families which respects the race, gender, religion and culture of each person using the service, and will endeavour, to the best of its ability, to cater for any special need or disability, in line with the Equal Opportunities Policy which operates in the Club.

The school policies and procedures cover such areas as accident and sickness procedures, health & safety and behaviour management, fire and child protection are available to be viewed at the school.

Any children attending The Hills Academy aged from their third to eleventh birthdays are eligible to attend the Club. (For more detailed information see the Admissions Policy).

Children will be supervised at all times by Club staff until they are collected by their parents or a named person 16 years and older. The Club works on a ratio of 1 member of staff for every 8 children.

All staff have been subject to Enhanced Criminal Record checks.

A Complaints Procedure exists, and in the first instance any complaint should be made to the School Business Manager, Mrs Sarah Dickson in the School Office in writing or in any other suitable form stating the name of the people involved, the relevant dates and the nature of the complaint.  Further details regarding the policy can be found in the school's Complaints Policy.
