OUTDOORS IN YEAR 3!

On Monday 26th September 3B had their outdoor learning morning.

The morning consisted of 3 activities. The children had the opportunity to help construct the new bug hotel for the Robin’s Garden. They used a variety of materials such as wood and stone to build up layers for insects like worms, snails, and wood lice. There was also room for hedgehogs to crawl in underneath the bug hotel.

There was also had an art activity, creating observational drawings using the techniques they were taught in Year 2 and applying the techniques they are currently learning in Year 3 like rendering and cross hatching. They also created some fantastic stain glass inspired chalk art.

The final activity was free play and they enjoyed playing with the music wall, the rope swing, the mud kitchen and the fairy garden.

The weather stayed lovely though a little bit chilly but the children had a lovely time playing and exploring in the garden with their new friends Larry and Robert the snails!

Year 3 also had their first sports morning and a super time was had by all. The children were fabulous at each activity and it was lovely to see them cheering on their peers. They completed hurdles, bean bag throwing and a relay race to name just a few.

It was also lovely to be able to welcome the parents into the school to watch and cheer on their children.
